James Edwin Ham, age 94, passed from this life April 28, 2024 at Timberlane Health and Rehab surrounded by family. James was born January 26,1930 in El Dorado, AR to the late James Henry and Dorothy Rose McPhaul Ham.

Mr. Ham retired from many years as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a lifetime member of Souls Chapel Church of Christ. He was a skilled basket weaver, learned from his father, and shared his talent with student classes at the local college. He was also an avid fisherman, gardener and hunter which he enjoyed doing with his children, grandchildren, friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Emery Ham; brother-in-law Galion Hall; son in law Ed Mautz and the beloved mother of his four children Margaret Ham.

Those left to cherish his memory include: one sister Ruth Hall; four children Annette Mautz (Ed), Carol Markle (Charles), Debbie Lum (Danny), and Buddy Ham (Lisa); eight grandchildren Leanne Burton, Steven Mautz (Amber), Michael Dickey (Lisa), Erica Christianson, Tanya Butler (Brandon), Sarah Adair (Steven), Bradley Ham, and Blake Ham (Rachel); thirteen great grandchildren Madison, Willow, Lucas, Samuel, Gabi, Jolie, Wesley, Madelyn, Colton, Kaiden, AnaLayah, Millie, and Megan; two great-great-grandchildren Payton and Parker; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside services in his honor will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Craig Cemetery, Pastor Jimmy Bullock officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2024, at Perry’s Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, AR.

Serving as pallbearers are: David Hall, Michael Dickey, Lucas Dickey, Steven Adair, Brad Ham and Blake Ham.
