REBA METZ, 82, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19,2008. Born Nov. 26, 1925, in Altus, Ark., she was the daughter of Norman and Carrie Floyd.
She retired from the Little Rock Public School District in 1986 as a cafeteria manager. She was a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Her favorite pastime was gardening.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Metz, two brothers, John and Porter Floyd, and two sisters, Sula Bozeman and Mabel Post, Mrs. Metz is survived by two sons, Ronald Metz of Marked Tree, Ark., and James Metz of Virginia Beach, Va., and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Patricia, and Christopher.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Father Richard Zawadzki, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
*When Robert Joseph Metz was born on March 12, 1920, in Altus, Arkansas, his father, Carl, was 32 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 29. He married Reba Metz on January 10, 1946. They had two children during their marriage. He died on September 28, 1986, in Moriarty, New Mexico, at the age of 66, and was buried in Alexander, Arkansas.
When Reba Metz was born on November 26, 1925, in Altus, Arkansas, her father, Norman, was 35, and her mother, Carrie, was 36. She married Robert Joseph Metz on January 10, 1946. They had two children during their marriage. She died on January 19, 2008, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 82, and was buried in Alexander, Arkansas.
