May 23, 1956 - Sep 24, 2024
Rebecca Ann (Hazelwood) Kennedy, 68, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed from this life to be with her heavenly Father and family on September 24, 2024. She was born on May 23, 1956, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Turner Lee and Peggy Ann Hazelwood.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Kennedy Jr.; her niece, Amanda Carter; and her nephew, Dustin Carter. She leaves behind her daughter, Brandy LeeAnn Kennedy; siblings, Shelly Marr (Chris) and Byron Hazelwood, a host of nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
Rebecca spent most of her life in Shreveport, Louisiana where she has many loving family and friends. She was a loving mother to her daughter Brandy; Rebecca’s world revolved around her. God knew what he was doing when He made Rebecca her mother. It takes a special Mom to care for a special child, and Rebecca did that with strong faith and much love. She knew that God gave her the privilege of raising Brandy and she relished it her entire life. Rebecca will be truly missed on this earth but welcomed in Heaven.
A family memorial for Rebecca will be held at a later date.
We want to thank the staff at The Springs of Premier in N. Little Rock, AR for taking such wonderful care of Rebecca; and the wonderful healthcare providers at Gentiva Hospice for helping us all in her last days.
In remembrance of Rebecca’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to: Shriners Children’s Hospital (any location).
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. 501-982-3400.
