PULASKI CO - Ralph N. James, 63, of Little Rock, died Friday. He was retired from the Pulaski County Special School District and was a member of Heritage Baptist Temple. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; daughter and her husband, Debra and Jim Burks; four sisters, Beverly Lanier, Johnnie New, Mary Bridges and Marita Bivins; three grandchildren, Kristina, Corey and Damien. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, at Heritage Baptist Temple, 4910 Stagecoach Road, with Rev. David W. Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Wilkerson, Ed Cordon, Joe Moss, Fred Shemwell, Paul Wittenburg and Fred Davis. Memorials may be made to Heritage Baptist Temple. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. today at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth

KINGSLAND, TX - Shirley Emily James, 74, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away November 12, 2013. She was born to the late Lonnie and Katherine (White) Bell on February 25, 1939 in Tyronza, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Herman and Wayne Bell. She was married to the late Ralph N. James, Jr. on October 20, 1961 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and caring mother and sister for her family. She had attended Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock. She was an expert with her flower gardens, loving the outdoors. She really loved her dog, "Love". Shirley is survived by her daughter, Debra Massey and her husband Mike of Marble Falls, Texas; brothers and sisters, Lonnie Bell Jr., Billy Bell, Virgil Bell, Ronnie Bell, Jo Sisco and Janette Goosby; two beloved grandchildren who she was so proud of, Kristina Marie Hancock and Corey Alan Newell; also survive with nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas, on Saturday, November 16, at 10 a.m. Arrangements in Little Rock made by Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home.
