October 10, 1906 - May 9, 2004
Harl Robert Griffith, Sr., age 97, of Russellville, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 10, 1906, at Coal Hill, Arkansas, the son of the late Robert and Martha Jane Quillin Griffith. He was a Coal Mine Operator and retired as a State Mine Inspector for the State of Arkansas. He was a graduate of the College of the Ozarks (now University of the Ozarks) in Clarksville, Arkansas. He was a member of the 16th Street Church of Christ in Russellville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Koy V. Griffith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harl, Jr. and Elaine Griffith of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane G. and Chuck Freeman of Rogers, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Teri Knight and husband, Jim of Russellville, Tommy Griffith and wife, Patricia of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kelly Hearn of Lees Summit, Missouri, Shelly Thompson of Lenexa, Kansas, and Tiffany Teis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 A. M., Tuesday, May 11, at Shinn Chapel, with A. W. Goff and Andy Kleinlein officiating. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, in Ft. Smith, by Shinn Funeral Service.
