World War II
July 3, 1922 - September 11, 2000
Mr. Emry A. Geisel, 78, of Fort Smith, Ark. died Monday, September 11, 2000, in Greenwood, Ark. He was a mason, and a mechanic for Putman Lincoln Mercury and a Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene of the home; one daughter, Candece Dyer of Rose Hill, Kansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Victor Geisel and Drucilla of Gainsville, Texas; two grandchildren, Tracy Dyer of Hays, Kans and Kelly Dyer of Bedford, Texas; one niece, Vickie Geisel.
Funeral services were Sept 14, 2000 at Haven Heights Baptist church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Carol Woody, Norman Fletcher, A.W. Mitchell, Doye Elmore, Jerry Spearman and Pete Butler.
Imogene
March 27, 1929 - December 1, 2009
On December 1, 2009 Imogene Geisel, age 80 joined her husband, Emry Geisel who preceded her on September 11, 2000.
Many of you would have known Imogene as she had worked in many local Ft. Smith restaurants beginning in 1943. Some of you may remember seeing her at The Ole South, First National Bank Coffee Shop, and most recently Juan's, before she retired to play golf with Emry at the Vache Grasse Country Club in Greenwood, AR.
Survivors include her daughter, Candace Dyer of Norfolk, NE, granddaughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Brett Behrens of Omaha, NE, granddaughter, Tracy Dyer of Chicago, IL, brother, Doye Elmore of Ft. Smith, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as very special friends that she talked to almost daily Jane Broadderick, Kaye Wilcox and Dorthiea Odenbach.
Services were held Monday, December 7th at Haven Heights Baptist Church followed by Burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
