Martha Kay Plank, 85, of Huntsville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at her home in Huntsville. She was born Wednesday, February 1, 1939, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Lou C. and Elsie Ostebee Thornton.
Martha married Edward Howard Plank on June 11, 1980. She was a dedicated homemaker with a passion for fishing and shooting. Martha also enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting, traveling, and reading. She was known for her excellent cooking and had an extensive collection of hard and paperback novels.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Howard Plank; her parents Lou and Elsie Thornton; one grandchild; Larry Lemmons, and a sister; Kay Severt.
She is survived by her three children, Ricky George (Vickey) of Tulsa, Cynthia Reid (Paul) of Huntsville, and Wesley Miller of Mansford, Michigan; two brothers, Jerry Thornton (Ollie) of Wichita, Kansas, and Archie Thornton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, David Young, Darrick Young, and Lisa Lemmons; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation is entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
