September 24, 1899 - September 27, 1982
Virgil Lendrax Foster, Sr., formerly of Yell County, died Monday, September 27, in the Methodist Nursing Home in Fort Smith. Mr. Foster was a native of Havana, son of the late George R. and Mattie Mott Foster, was a retired businessman and was a charter member of the Goodnews Assembly of God Church in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Estell Buckman Foster, Fort Smith; one son, Len Foster of Kitchum, OK; one daughter, Mrs. Jean Williams of Fort Smith; one brother, Fred Foster of La vista, AR; and one sister, Mrs. Ora Raah, of Fort Smith; and two granddaughters. Funeral services were Wednesday, September 29, in the Goodnews Assembly of God Church in Fort Smith with Rev. Lowell Snitker officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith by Cornwell Funeral Home.
