December 21, 1930 - October 1, 2008
Mr. Eugene Finney of Arkoma went to meet his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. He was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Goldie Mae Finney. He was of the Pentecostal faith; a member of the Full Gospel Church in Moffett, Oklahoma. Mr. Finney worked for the Dyke Brothers Lumber; ARK/OK Frozen Foods and OK Food Hatchery.
Mr. Finney was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Fred and Phoenix Finney; two sisters: Barbara Noe and Betty Romine; and a daughter-in-law: Terry Finney.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Ida Mae Finney; a daughter: Linda Whitledge and her husband: Gerald; a son : Gerry Finney; a brother: Albert Finney; a sister: Patricia Carol and her husband: David; 9 wonderful grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many good friends.
Funeral servive was held on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 2:00p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Brother Wayne Hall, officiated the service.
Pallbearers were: Chris Whitledge, Brett Grubb, Tim Whitledge, Jearmy Finney, Gerald Whitledge, and J.D. Langston.
Ida
November 19, 1932 - September 27, 2015
Ida Mae "May" Finney, 82, of Arkoma, OK, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 in Fort Smith. She was born November 19, 1932 in Malvern, AR to William George Yarberro and Viola "Earl" Yarberro.
She was of the Pentecostal Faith and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Arkoma. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved to sing in church for the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Eugene Finney.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by two children , Linda Whitledge and husband Gerald of Fort Smith, and Gerry Finney and wife Evelyn of Nicaragua, grandchildren Tracy Grubb and Darren of Van Buren, Tim Whitledge of Tulsa, Chris Whitledge and Sandra of Fort Smith, Andrea Whitledge of Tulsa, Tracy Jo Smith and Wesley Smith of Pocola, Jeramy Finney of Tulsa, Mitchell Finney of Japan, Vanessa Finney of Tulsa, Zasha Finney, Gracey Finney and Shiloh Finney of Nicaragua and a unknown grandson, great grandchildren Brett Grubb, Brooklyn Grubb, Tyler Rainwater, Camryn Whitledge, Madison Whitledge, Maddox Whitledge, Cooper Finney, K'leigh and Aiden Finney, Andrea Whitledge, Katlyn, Tim and Trevor Henderson, great great grandson Reed Rainwater and many nieces and nephews.
She was the Light of this family and friends. She will be missed but she is now singing for the Lord in person.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Whitledge, Chris Whitledge, Jeramy Finney, Brett Grubb, Gerald Whitledge and Darren Grubb. Honorary pallbearer will be Phillip Merry.
