Odie Mae Langley Files, age 95, of Round Rock, TX, formerly of Fordyce, AR died Wednesday February 17, 2016 at her home.
Born February 27, 1920, in Lono, AR, she was the daughter of Foster and Della Varnell Pierce. She married Marvin Marcus Langley on October 1st, 1938. They lived in Thornton, AR for many years before moving to Fordyce, and were longtime members of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
Odie is survived by her daughter Linda Gardner of Round Rock, TX; daughter-in-law Sharon Langley of Katy, TX; and a step-daughter Kathryn Harris of Fordyce, AR. Grandchildren are Cecily Rodgers and husband Steve of Fort Worth, TX; David Gardner and wife Haley of Round Rock, TX; Rand Langley of Katy, TX; and Stephanie Langley of Houston, TX. Great Grandchildren are Hannah and Seth Rodgers of Fort Worth, TX; and Jack and Mackenna Gardner of Round Rock, TX. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Inez Langley of Houston, TX and several nieces and nephews.
Odie was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Langley, and second husband Watt Files; a son Robert Langley; and a step-son Wayne Files. Brothers and sisters preceding her in death were James Pierce, Jewel Pierce, Mack Pierce, Claude Pierce, Edward Pierce, AV "Mutt" Pierce, Annie Wallace, and Jessie Owens.
Visitation will be Sunday evening 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. Funeral services will be held at Benton Funeral Home Chapel of Fordyce on Monday February 22 at 10:00 A.M with Rev. Brian Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery by Benton Funeral Home.
