James B. St John, 87, went to be with His Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday January 16, 2013. Jim died peacefully in his sleep at home.

Jim was born January 24, 1925 to Marshall Bayles and Margaret Robertson St John in Rockford, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his brother, John St John.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette St John to whom he was married 58 years. Jim was the devoted father of two daughters, Judy Burrows and her husband Jim Burrows of Beijing China, Joyce Gildemeister and her husband Bernhard Gildemeister of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren Bethany Hammond and her husband Job Hammond, Rebekah Burrows, and Jason Burrows, Christoph Gildemeister, Stefan Gildemeister, Katrina Gildemeister, Johannes Gildemeister and Matthias Gildemeister; and one niece Christine St John Cole.

Jim was a WWII veteran. He served his country 3 years and was honorably discharged in April 1945. This recent October 2012, he was grateful to be chosen to go to the WWII memorial in Washington, DC to be honored publically with other vets. He was humbly touched by that visit.

Jim received his Bachelor's in Accounting from the University of Illinois. He was employed as a comptroller until his retirement. After retirement he enjoyed many hobbies including Christian writing, playing Scrabble and staying in touch with people through the internet. Jim and his wife moved to Little Rock, AR in 1999. Previously they lived in Newark, Delaware for over 50 years.

Jim was a member of First Christian Church on Mississippi Avenue. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm, Sunday, January 20, at First Christian Church, followed by funeral services at 2:30 pm. Private entombment will be at Riverwood Memorial Gardens, Maumelle.
