Herbert T. Featherston Jr., 88, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, in Fort Smith.
He was born Nov. 10, 1926, in Paris to the late Herbert and Ella Mae Featherston.
He was a retired machinist from Dixie Cup. He was a member and founding member of Victory Temple Church and U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Featherston, and son, Glenn Featherston.
Homecoming will be 10 a.m. Monday at Victory Temple Church with Pastor Gary Brown and the Rev. George Lynn officiating.
Private burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by five children, Barbara Davidson of Fort Smith, Diannah Featherston, widow of Glenn Featherston of Edmond, Okla., Susie Odom and husband Larry of Poteau, Gary Featherston and wife Linda of Mansfield, Texas, and Sharon Jennings and husband Dave of Fort Smith; two sisters, Lila Sue Short of Greenwood and Nona Bess Gibbs of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Audra Shay and husband John, Shawn Sigler, Michael Odom and wife Valerie, Chris Odom and wife Debra, Todd Featherston and wife Ashley, Kelly Aiken and husband Jonathan; nine great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Knight, Darrel Hood, Brian Hood and Dillon Jennings; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Odom, Chris Odom, Shawn Sigler, Todd Featherston, Jonathan Aiken and Caleb Howell.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Shay, Dave Newton, Bobby Woodrome, Jim Coles, Steve Craine and Vince Gassman.
