Harry was born August 9, 1920 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Ethel and Harrison Wood, Sr. As a Veteran of World War II, he served four years of active duty and remained in the Naval Reserves for the next 17 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. After the war, he attended the University of Florida, graduating in 1952 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. While at the University of Florida Harry was elected to Phi Kappa Phi, an honorary scholastic fraternity. After graduating, he joined Union Carbide Company, working in the Y-12 facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He then joined ITT Rayonier in 1954 as an engineer at its Fernandina Beach, Florida pulp mill. Over the next thirty years, he held numerous positions with increasing levels of responsibility. These included manager of the Jesup, Georgia mill division, heading up a special technical task force for the Rayonier mill in Port Cartier, Quebec, assistant manager of Southeast Regional Operations, and corporate vice president, director of manufacturing services. In 1985 Harry retired and moved to Athens, Georgia where he and his wife Yvonne spent the next 29 years. In April of this year, they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to be closer to family.

During his retirement, Harry enjoyed hunting and fishing but developed a passion for collecting, refinishing and restoring antique clocks. He was a past member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and the Athens Area Military Officers Association of America.

Harry is preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Ray Wood; younger sisters, Helen Brink and Virginia Read; and his oldest daughter, Linda Parmenter. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Yvonne Limbaugh Wood of Little Rock, Arkansas; his younger brother, Carl Wood of Franklin, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Wood of Mountain View, California; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Page and Hank Page of Little Rock, Arkansas; son-in-law, Guy Parmenter of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchildren, Stuart Parmenter, Andrew Parmenter, Julie Parmenter, Catherine Wood Hill, Matthew Wood, Walker Page and Helen Page; and three great-grandchildren.

Yvonne Limbaugh Wood, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the age of 95. Yvonne was born March 22, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida, to parents, Ione Lewis Limbaugh and Douglas Bennett Limbaugh.

Yvonne married Harrison Bassett Wood, Jr., on August 7, 1949. They both attended the University of Florida on the GI Bill. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and was awarded honorary memberships to Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa.

Yvonne was a homemaker, tirelessly caring for Harry and their three children. Harry's work required the family to move multiple times and she always made new friends at each location. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and going to estate sales. In 1985, when Harry retired, they moved to Athens, Georgia, where they lived for the next 29 years. In 2014, they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, to be closer to family.

Yvonne was preceded in death by Harry, her husband of 65 years, and her oldest daughter, Linda Wood Parmenter.

She is survived by her son, David Wood (Michelle) of Naples, Florida; her daughter, Susan Page (Hank) of Little Rock; son-in-law, Guy Parmenter of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchildren, Stuart Parmenter, Andrew Parmenter, Julie Parmenter, Catherine Wood Hill, Matthew Wood, Walker Page, and Helen Page; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., September, 22, 2022, at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army or the Arkansas Food Bank.
