September 3, 1927 - April 30, 2012
Christopher Clifton Ellis, 84, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 in a local hospital.
He was a retired supervisor of the Arkansas Highway Department, the Fort Smith Street Department and had retired from Wilson Brothers Company. He enjoyed a long career with the highway department constructing roads and bridges throughout the state of Arkansas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith and past president of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Alma, four brothers, Ewell, Clinton, Farris and Doyle and one sister Floy Mae.
Funeral Services are 10:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in the Roebuck Chapel with Reverend Jaimie Alexander and Reverend Bill Cheyne officiating.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
His is survived by his wife Alyce, two daughters, Ann and Kari Ellis; one son, Mark C. Ellis and his wife Joyce, one sister, Arelia Nicholas and six grandchildren, Mark, Joey, Shelby, Christopher, David and Jordyne.
Pallbearers are Wayne Ellis, Joe Ellis, Rodney, Ellis, Ray Weeks, Ed Brewer, Ted Brewer and Larry Parker.
Honorary pallbearers are the Aldersgate Sunday School Class, Cleo and Josephine Leftwich and Henry and Barbara Williams.

Alyce F. Ellis, 86, of Fort Smith passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Butterfield Place with family by her side.
She was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Fulton to Alfred and Leota (Stuart) Futrell.
She was a retired LPN from the Orthopedic Department at Holt Krock Clinic. Alyce was a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church, in the Aldersgate Sunday school class and served inthe Woman’s Society and United Methodist Women. She was both a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Ellis.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a son, Mark Ellis of Rogers; two daughters, Ann Ellis of Van Buren and Kari Ellis of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Mark and Brian, Joe, Shelby and Kendra; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher, David and Jordyne.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and Ed and Ted Brewer and David Albertson.
