Jacqueline "Jackie" Duncan 88 died Friday November 11, 2011 in Ft. Smith, AR.
Jackie was born April 15, 1923 in Hartshorne, OK to Wash and Edith Lester.
After graduating from high school, Jackie joined the Navy and served as a WAVE in WWII. When the war ended, she returned to OK, attended college and spent the majority of her career as a secretary at Ft. Chaffee.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ernest A. Duncan, her parents, her brother; Charles Lester and her youngest sister; Jean Ann Young.
Jackie is survived by her daughter; Donna Smela of Edmond, Ok. Granddaughter; Jennifer Pereyra, greatgrandson; Phoenix Pereyra also of Edmond, OK. and step son; Ernest D. Duncan and family of Panama, OK. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Krisher and nephew, Tim Krisher of Huntsville, AL.
Jackie attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years and cherished the friendships that she made there.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 17, 2011, in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
