*Obituary
Deborah Kay Cates, age 74, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away on June 21, 2024. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 19, 1950 to parents Harrell Davis and Annie (Singleton) Davis who preceded her in death. Deborah is also preceded in death by her daughter Heather Cates and sister Linda Self (Dick).

She leaves behind her two children Alison Cates (Clint Holladay) and Jason Cates (Melissa); grandchildren Sydni Cates, Kaylan Gibbs (Coleton), Halli Holladay, and Morgan Holladay; great-grandchildren Kennedy Ellison, Kohen Hamm, Carson Gibbs, Dustin Gibbs, and Colt Gibbs; brother Harrell Davis Jr. (Judy); sister Sheryl Holcomb (Steve); sibling by choice Dennis Major; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Deborah worked as a dispatcher for the Sherwood Police Department and as a paraprofessional for the Jacksonville School District for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, watching game shows, and spending time outside. Deborah was a big Arkansas Razorbacks fan and always rooted for her favorite team. She would always say her favorite meal of all time included fried chicken and Coca-Cola. Above all, Deborah loved her family and especially loved spending her time with her grandchildren. She was loved by many, and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
