May 18, 1957 - Apr 8, 2024
Juanita Lynn Nave passed away on April 8, 2024. Just as the world was looking to the sky to watch something amazing, Nita closed her eyes and when the sun came back she was gone.
Nita was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on May 18th 1957. Her parents, Ruby Vonelle Barro and John Samuel Schumacher divorced shortly after her birth. Luckily, in 1961, Ruby remarried to Anthony Joseph Barro, Jr. He raised Nita like his own, and she became stepsister to Anthony Joseph Barro, III, and his sister, Grace. Nita was always on the honor roll and was big sister to the three brothers that were to come: Michael, of Huntsville; Christopher, of Batesville; and Richard, of Searcy.
In 1978, in her early years of nursing school, she met Bobby Lee Elliott, and married. A full-time student, while working full-time, she became mother to Lisa Renee. After earning her Registered Nursing Degree at Westark Community College, she began her 32 years in the healthcare field. Divorced in 1993, she moved back to Arkansas with her daughter to be with her family.
From trauma nurse in the ER at Sparks Regional Medical Center, to head nurse at Rose Care Nursing Center in Fort Smith - when her daughter finished school, Nita began an adventure of travel nursing, working in major hospitals from El Paso to Pine Bluff. While enjoying one of her favorite things, a professional wrestling event in Texas, she met her former husband Hunter J. Nave, and they married in 2001. In Tennessee, she became a hospice nurse, making things easier for families and folks that were experiencing the hardest times of their lives. Nita was a resident of Elizabethton, Tennessee; with her husband until due to health issues with her and her husband she made the decision to come back to Huntsville with her daughter, Lisa.
Always proud to be a member of her family, she didn't get near as much time with Tony III, Grace, Michael, Richard and Rachelle, Chris and Elaine, Shelly, Kristine or Mikey, or newly found sister, Melissa, as she would have liked to.
In lieu of flowers or any condolences that may be offered, Nita would just hope that you would tell your family that you love them. To appreciate the time that you have because you never know when the sun's going to go set.
The family especially wants to thank Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville for their help and comfort. Without them we would have been lost. Also to the Madison County Senior Center for their amazing patience and great people. A private family ceremony was held on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Any further condolences may be sent directly to Brashears Funeral Home.
I miss you Mom and I promise I'll make Grandma and Grandpa proud. Love, your Dweeb
