On Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 7:37 p.m., our beloved Ludmila "Millie" Hart passed away in her home with her daughter Ludmila Filipek at her bedside. Millie was born on February 12, 1926 to Sidonia and Samuel Fleischhaker in Modra, Czechoslovakia. At 18, she married Augustin Polak and had 2 surviving children. In 1971, she moved to Chicago and found work as a CNA at Bohemian Nursing Home. This job was her passion and she gave so much loving care to her patients. She retired 20 years later then moved to Hot Springs. In 1995, she married her last husband William Hart who she referred to as her "soul mate." He passed away in 2000 and she spent the final years of her life living with her daughter Ludmila.
Millie's family include her daughter Ludmila "Millie" Filipek of Hot Springs, her son Milan Polak, (Eva) of Slovakia, grandchildren Monica John of Wisconsin, Victor Filipek of Illinois, Eric Filipek of Illinois, Andrea Coffaro of Illinois, also Milan, Peter and Martina Polak of Slovakia, and ten great grandchildren, also surviving are cousins, Frederick and Rose Tornil and their children, Martin and Daniel and a sister-in-law, Astrid Anderson with nephew, Brian.
Special thanks go out to Danny Dancuo for his caring, friendship and moral support and to Anka Dancuo, neighbors Ray and Anne Hood for their caring and giving kindness. Thanks to First Luthern Church members for their many years of joy, love, support and prayers.
Pallbearers will be Eric Filipek, Victor Filipek, Kenny Allen, Ray Hood, Marvin Hanson and Dr. Jeremy John.
Visitation starting at 1 PM and service at 3 PM will be held at Hot Springs Funeral Home on Monday with Pastors Dan McDougal and Amos Gray from First Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery.
Millie will be greatly missed, but we will hold her dear in our hearts forever.
