On June 21, 2023 Womblee "Lee" Hamilton (87) departed this life surrounded by his loving family.

Lee was born September 24, 1935 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Franklin & Lillie Bird (Speers) Hamilton. He attended Cutter Morning Star School and married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Jane Koller on October 23, 1956. Lee & Shirley were married for 63 years before her passing in May 2020.

Lee & Shirley raised five sons. Johnny (Mona) Hamilton of Pearcy; Dennis (Shari) Hamilton of Hot Springs; Robert Scott (Pam Sanders) Hamilton of Hot Springs; Gregg (Brenda) Hamilton of Hot Springs; Trevor (Stacy) Hamilton of Hot Springs and one "bonus" son Billy (Susie) Hamilton of Hot Springs.

Lee is survived by his five sons and one bonus son. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Kira (Johnny) Bridges, Christopher Hamilton, Jillian (Michael) Boxer, David Sweet, Megan Sweet, Shellie (Micah) Boyett, Kelsey (Alex) May, Justin (Katy) Boles, Drew (Alli) Hamilton, Jesika (Jesus) Yanez; his great-grandchildren, Logan, Macy, Noah, Logan, Lane, Carter, Sadie, Marly, Emerson, Easton, Archer, Kylie, Harley, Alex and Aliyah; his brothers Monroe (Aileen) Hamilton, Roy (Linda) Hamilton; his sisters June Miller, Jannette "Skeet" Hunt; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Hamilton; his nephew Danny "Bear" (Judy) Hamilton; and many, many more nieces & nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents Franklin & Lillie Bird (Speers) Hamilton; Grandson Anthony Lee Hamilton; Great-Grandson Alexander Boles; brothers Rual Hamilton, RV Hamilton, Willie Hamilton; and sister Doris Smith.

Lee joined the Marines right out of high school, which took him and his wife to California. Once he finished his time in the service, he moved his family back to Arkansas working as a truck driver, carpenter, auctioneer, store owner and parts delivery driver. Though, his favorite "job" was spending his nights and weekends on the softball fields as an umpire at Bald Mountain Softball Park.

Lee was happiest when he was standing around a campfire or in a deer stand at Hamilton Hunting Club. If you wanted to see him between October-November you had to visit him in the "deer woods". He passed his love of the outdoors down to his children and grandchildren who have all carried on the tradition of spending every fall in the deer woods.

A celebration of Lee's life will be held Friday, June 23, 2023. Visitation begins at 12:00pm at Caruth Hale Funeral Home and a Graveside Service will be held immediately after at 2:00pm at Morning Star Cemetery, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Kira Bridges, Christopher Hamilton, Jillian Boxer, Shellie Boyett, Justin Boles, Kelsey May, Drew Hamilton, and his nephew, Billy Hamilton.
