Frances Curtis, 83, of Arkoma died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in Arkoma. She was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Wilson, Okla., to William Francis Curtis and Lilly Mae Herring Curtis. She worked at Flanders Inc. in Fort Smith and was a member of Assembly of God in Arkoma for over 70 years. Frances was a loving sister and aunt to all her family; she loved her children; and she was always helping other people. Frances will be missed by all of her family. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Assembly of God in Arkoma with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Smith Mortuary Inc. of Charleston. She is survived by two sisters, Wanda Snyder of Chelsea, Okla., and Wilma Curtis of Arkoma; and one brother, C.D. Curtis of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jim Moore, Gene Earls, Larry Hall, Gary Hickerson, Charles Jones, David Webb, Stanley Snyder and E.J. Snyder.
