James R Smoke SMOKEY- age 91, started making his way to heaven on Oct. 6, 2011. He was born May 23rd, 1920 the son of the late Jim and Esther Smoke of Magnet Cove and resided in Hot Springs, Arkansas most all of his adult life. He was a WWII Veteran. He gave 40 years of service to Reynolds Metals then retired in 1982. He was a faithful servant to God, his Father and attended the Unity Full Gospel Church. Smokey is preceded in death by his parents; son James D. (Bubber) Smoke; daughter Joyce Faye (Hughes) Fields; siblings Keith Smoke, Johnnie Smoke, Albert Smoke, Reathy Yarbrough and Alice Hampton. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years Elsie M. (Isom) Smoke of Pearcy, Arkansas; daughters Diana Gail Dickson (Larry) of Vancouver, Washington, Beverly Ann Cardwell (Garry) of San Antonio, Texas and Nona Catherine Shaw (Larry) of Jessieville, Arkansas. He was blessed with thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery. Pallbearers include Russell Fields, Austen Fields, Mickey Conrad, James Sorrels, Sean Sharp, and Richard Shaw. Honorary Pallbearers include Larry Shaw and Russell Wintchel. Donations can be made to the Hospice Centers. A special Thank You to the staff in ICU and the Arkansas Hospice Unit on the 5th floor at St Joseph Mercy Hospital and to all our family and friends during this difficult time.
