Willie Carl Beard, Jr., 83, of Roland passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008. He was born September 13, 1924 in Pulaski County, Arkansas to Willie Carl Beard Sr. and Lula Woodall Beard. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the 7th Armor Division.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Morrow Beard, of Roland; four sons, Bobby Beard (Barbara), of Sheridan, James Jackson (Brenda), of North Little Rock, Kenny Jackson (Donna) and Ronnie Jackson (Rhonda), all of Roland; daughter, Carol Beard Cullum (Larry) of Roland; seventeen grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Ray, Kenneth and John Beard; and one sister, Doris Miller. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Belma Lola Leath Beard; great-grandson, Benjamin Johnson and his sister, Lucille Howell.
He was a good ?Daddy? and a hard worker who loved his wife, kids, grandkids and his dog, ?Paco?.
Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, 211 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
A special thanks to Dr. James Florez, Dr. Hugh Burnett and nurses, Robert and Brodie from SICU.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clay Burnett and Rev. David Cypert officiating. A graveside service will be held 4:00 P.M., at Fowler Cemetery in Paron, Arkansas. Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
