*James first married Sarah (Sallie) Elizabeth Holladay and they had five children together. Only five months after Sallie's death, he married Cora Craig and the couple had an additional four children together. James farmed 80 acres of land in what is now the Maumelle Lake area. He served in World War I, most likely in France. He died on January 5, 1925, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 66, and was buried in Paron, Saline County, Arkansas.
