*When Virgil Bud (Self) Chastain was born on December 12, 1848, in Georgia, his father, John, was 33 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 28. He married Tabitha Tennessee Cole on December 2, 1869. They had nine children during their marriage. He died on January 2, 1918, in Paron, Arkansas, at the age of 69, and was buried there.
*Tabitha Tennessee Cole was born on May 1, 1846, in Hardeman, Tennessee. She married Virgil Bud (Self) Chastain on December 2, 1869. They had nine children during their marriage. She died on August 8, 1918, in Paron, Arkansas, at the age of 72, and was buried there.
