Edith L. Cook, 77, of Benton was born Aug.29, 1936 and passed away Jan. 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald D. Cook of 46 years, one son Doyal Dewayne Cook; her parents Noah Louallen and Elta Rickard Louallen sisters Netta Louallen, Gordie Hollowoa, Eunice Travis, Alma Rhodes Keller, Melba Louallen, Louise Green Nelson.

She is survived by two sons Darrell Cook and wife Vicki; Jeffery Cook and wife Jill; two daughters Terri Cook and Debbie Petty and husband Randy; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grand children, two sisters Zetti Cox and Genevieve Burton.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton with Bro. Don Richardson officiating. Burial to follow at Walnut Bottoms Cemetery in Paron.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Jan. 16 at Ashby Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Arkansas Hospice Foundation 14 Parkstone Circle North Little Rock, AR72116.

*When Gerald Don Cook was born on December 19, 1931, in Bauxite, Arkansas, his father, Robert, was 49 and his mother, Ella, was 36. He married on February 12, 1953. He then married Edith Laverne Louallen and they had one son together. He died on March 31, 2000, in Benton, Arkansas, at the age of 68, and was buried in Saline, Arkansas.
