David Newton Rhodes, 84, died Thursday afternoon in Bastrop, La. He was a retired employe of the Huttig Sawmill. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Henrietta Davis Rhodes; one son, Louie Rhodes, Big Springs, Tex., four daughters, Mrs. W. E. Langley, Andrews, Tex., Mrs. Dallas Impson, El Dorado, Mrs. Cecil Usher, Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. J. W. Parker, Jr., Bastrop, La.; two brothers, Robert Rhodes, Stephens, and Thomas Rhodes, Chidester; a sister, Mrs. Mary Kirby, Camden; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Harper Springs Church. Burial will follow in the Harper Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
