Connie Rush Wheeler
October 14, 1956 - September 18, 2023
Connie Rebecca Rush Wheeler, daughter of the late V. T. Rush and Robbie Lawrence Rush, was born October 14, 1956 in Wenatchee, Washington. She departed this life September 18, 2023 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 4 days. She was a graduate of Melbourne High School. In 1972 she was united in marriage to Steven Wheeler and together they raised two sons. Connie lived her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. Most of her working years were spent at Melbourne City Hall. She was the city Recorder and Treasurer and a worked closely with the mayor. She had a heart for animals and people. Over the years, she rescued and brought home several dogs. Connie was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.
Connie is survived by her husband of 51 years: Steve Wheeler of the home; one son: Michael Lynn Wheeler and wife Holly of Melbourne; four grandchildren: Slayton Wheeler, Harper Ann Wheeler, Lawrence Wheeler and Falyn Wheeler; one daughter-in-law: Stacey Wheeler of Melbourne and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Vickie Diane Moser and one son: Brock Allen Wheeler.
Memorial service will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Belview Baptist Church with Logan Holliday and Doyne Robertson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Belview Baptist Building Fund.
Cremation arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
