Mrs. Agnes Dew Watson, 89, of Hamburg died Monday, February 15, 1999, in the Ashley County Medical Center. A native and life-long resident of Hamburg, she was a homemaker, a Merle Norman Cosmetics representative for many years, a former president of the Hamburg Garden Club, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamburg where she was organist for many years and a former president of the W. M. U. She was preceded in death by her husband, Trezevant Watson, Sr., in1982; her parents, L. W. and Willie Lee Allen Dew; three granddaughters, Barbara Lynn and Mary Ashley Watson and Tanya Ferrell; her daughter-in-law, Sue Watson; a brother, William Dew; and two sisters, Frances Peterson and Mayme Carver. Survivors are a son, Norman "Trezy" Watson, Jr., of Hamburg; a daughter, Sarah Lee Courtney and her husband, Bill, of Dermott; three grandchildren, Norman Watson of Brandon, MS, Terry Watson and Wendee Reed of Little Rock; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Hamburg with Rev. Klois Hargis and Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Pallbearers were Jack and Bobby Carpenter, Billy Bierbaum, Bill Dew, Bobby Kilcrease and Willard Noble. Burial followed services at the Hamburg Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 350, Hamburg, AR 71646.
