James Augustus "Red" Myers died July 20, 2011. He was 86 years old, the son of Hugh and Lillie Myers, born September 22, 1924 in Willow, Dallas County, AR. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and later retired from Reynolds Metals Company after 33 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Malvern and Foxfire Hunting Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Marie (Livingston) Myers and Alice (Drennan) Myers; five sisters, Lennie Mae Shuffield, Jessie Cooper, Emogene Bean, Ila Rhea Caddy, Billie Lee Myers; one brother, Jewell Myers; two nephews, Toby Bean and Jerry Shuffield.

He is survived by sister Kitty Mauney and nine nephews; Buddy and Terri Mauney; Benny Mauney, Jimmy Shuffield, Don and Joyce Cooper, Dean and Mary Cooper, Danny and Ann McDonald, Doyle and Judy Drennan, Robert and Sheri Lou Drennan; and Craig Drennan ;seven nieces, Vicki and Tom Landreth, Helen Christmas, Bennie Ruth Foster, Joy and Bill Martin, Rhonda and Doug Young, Linda and Stacy Bird, and Welda Rhea Sherman; many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Atkinson Funeral Chapel with Joey McDermont officiating.
Interment will be in Delamar Cemetery in Manning.
