Phyllis Gail Griffith Switzer was born July 23, 1950 in Crossett, Arkansas to the late Winford Leon Griffith and Lois Aileen Jones Griffith Harrison. Ms. Switzer passed away following a brief illness on November 13, 2013 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. She was a retired secretary and property manager. Ms. Switzer was an avid Christian and completely devoted to Christ and her family. She had a passion for gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping. She was loved by many.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter and best friend, Crystal Switzer of Bastrop; her three brothers, James Griffith and wife, Paulette of Bastrop, Michael Griffith and wife, Mary of Arizona, and Randy Griffith and wife, Jo Ann of Hamburg, Arkansas; step-father, Thomas Harrison of Bastrop; three step-daughters, Donelle Allen, Shellie Ray and husband Chris, and Shana Hamrick all of Bastrop; two step-sons, Brent Switzer and wife Alyssa of West Monroe, Louisiana and Scott Switzer of Little Rock, Arkansas; and eight grandchildren, Harlee Jo Ray, Gracee Allen, Gage Allen, Shelbie Brown, Kaylon Brown, Luke Switzer, Claudia Switzer, and Charlotte Switzer.

Serving as pallbearers are Anthony Griffith, Michael Griffith, Jr., Brian Rainbolt, Doug Jones, Jr., Chris Ray, and Kenneth Raspberry.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 15, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
