Mrs. Mary Dean Naff Pugh, 90, of McGehee, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. She was a native of Portland and a resident of McGehee for more than 63 years. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, holding state and local offices, a member of the board of directors of Bayou Grain of Parkdale, The People's Bank in Portland and Mainline Bankshares of Portland.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Henry; her husband of 51 years, John Hampton Pugh; her parents, Henry & Dean Bain Naff and a brother, Leroy Naff.
She is survived by a son, John Tipton Pugh Sr., and wife, Suzanne, of Portland; three grandchildren, Mary Ann Stallings and husband, Andy, and John Tipton Pugh Jr., all of Little Rock and Clarke Hampton Pugh and wife, Leila, of McGehee; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew, Charles Naff of Portland and a host of friends and neighbors.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in McGehee with Rev. Kenny Shaw officiating. A private burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 302 N. 4th Street, McGehee, AR 71654, Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home and Family Center, 1501 N. University Ave., Suite 345, Little Rock, AR 72207 or to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation, 1 Children's Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, AR 72202.
