Mary Virginia Starritt, 98, of Springhill, La., passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at her home in Springhill.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1914, in Rosston, Ark., to the late Thomas Enoree and Lalla Lee (May) Blakely. She was a cashier for Bowens Grocery and Watson Feed Store and a Methodist.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Welton Wayne Starritt; two sisters, Katheryn Epperson and Margaret Gulley; and a brother, Harold Blakely.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Dumas and husband Noel of Ocala, Fla., and Diane Blank of Fredrick, Md.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Vaughan, Bradley Dumas, Michelle Blank and Melissa Fanning; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Springhill with Bro. Bob Maples officiating.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in El Dorado.

The family would like to thank her caregivers for their care and comfort, Nell Sternbergs, Connie Holman, Carolyn Maddox and Gaye Cole.

Pallbearers will be Noel Dumas, Rick Vaughan, Lawrence Powell and Jerry Nash. (Lewis Funeral Home - Springhill, Louisiana)
