*Obituary
Orville [sic] Lee Cox, aged thirty-five years, was fatally injured in an automobile wreck which occurred early Tuesday morning of last week near Paron. Cox was driving a 1935 model Chevrolet pickup truck going north on Highway No. 9 when a radius rod on the truck developed a mechanical difficulty and the truck went out of control and turned over three times. A passenger from Mena was riding in the cab with Cox.
Cox is survived by his wife, Mrs. Inez Cox of Paron, three daughters, Frankie, Faye, Freda Ray and Joyce D., all of the home; one half-sister, Mrs. Merle Cash, Benton; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Cox, Paron.
Funeral services were held at three p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Walnut Bottom Cemetery. Rev. Mrs. Mary Cluff conducted the services and Ashby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. (from the Benton Courier, October 27, 1949, page 5)

Mrs. Joyce Inez Taylor, of Benton died Saturday, October 13, 2001, at the Saline Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1917, in Owensville, Arkansas. [Her birth certificate shows she was born in Union Township, Garland County.] Mrs. Taylor was retired from the Benton Services Center and a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Benton. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arvel Cox and Ernest Taylor. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Frankie Herring, Benton; Freda and A. C. Lambert, Benton; Darlene and Roger Langley, Benton; brother, Virgle Green, Benton; sisters, Goldie Reese, Benton; Sylvia Risen, Canelview, Texas; several nieces and nephews, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Burial was at Walnut Bottom Cemetery in Paron October 16.Memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Church building fund. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
