Mary Alice Hawkins, 85, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her residence. She was born September 2, 1936 to David Mack and Mary Colon Williams Jeter in El Dorado, AR.
She was Co-owner of Hawkins Jewelers, Inc. in El Dorado and Camden for 30 years, and later manager and home designer at Seasons Home Décor for many years. Mary Alice was a member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church, where she worked in the children’s department. She had a special love of going to church and having the privilege to worship. Mary Alice enjoyed sewing, arranging flowers, cooking for her family, her specialty was Nanny’s Fudge, and special outings with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Williams (James) and Norma King (Jimmy) both of El Dorado; grandchildren, Kelle Lawrence (Keith Alexander), Chris Williams (Erin), Jonathan Lawrence, Seth Williams all of El Dorado; great grandchildren, Lexie Lawrence, Paige Williams, Rylie Williams, Lambert Williams, Emersyn Williams; sister, Mary Virginia Taylor of El Dorado; step-children, Cynthia Renfroe, Shauna Mitchell (Mark), Grant Hawkins (Laura), Adam Hawkins (Melissa); and her special friend and caregiver, Cassandra Wyrick.
Preceding her in are her parents; and husband of 48 years, Otha Hawkins; step-daughter, Melissa Simpson; brothers, James Jeter, Wayne Jeter; sisters, Bobbie Cogburn and Alice Raye Norris.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Young’s Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Johnny Parrack officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
