Nelma Fay Nicholson, age 74, of Warren, Arkansas passed away on February 29, 2024. Nelma was born in Star City, Arkansas in 1949 to Lona Fay Craig and Nelson Craig.
Nelma met the love of her life Aaron “Ginger” Nicholson in 1981, the two were married on December 22, 1981, at Crigler Missionary Baptist Church in Star City Arkansas. They have four beautiful children, Michelle Shepherd, Harold Gene Shepherd, Douglas Nicholson, and Tracie Nicholson.Though she had many roles in life, Nelma’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their “Nene”. Her grandchildren are Christy Rodgers, Brooke (Wesley) Finkbeiner, Matthew VanDuren, Daniel (Ra’Leigh) VanDuren, Heather Shepherd, Miranda (Dugger) Holthoff, Niko Bice, Seth Millerd, Logan Dettrich, Jessica Nicholson, Babylyn Rosadino, Justin Nicholson, and April Nicholson. Her great grandchildren are Kaegan Holthoff, Drake Holland, Marissa Finkbeiner, Case Holthoff, Brady Holland, Aiden Jeffers-Holthoff, Lucas Fratesi, Abrianna Fratesi, and Peyton shepherd.
Nelma had a soft spot for her furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were.Nelma was passionate about her role as Clerk at Union Bank.She was an active member of Fairview Freewill Baptist Church.Everyone who knew her knew how much she loved Jesus, her family, and friends Nelma will be missed every day, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Nelma was preceded in death by her parents Lona. Fay and Nelson Craig, her sister Joyce Puckett, and her sister Vickie Barrett. Nelma is survived by her husband Aaron “Ginger” Nicholson, her sister Mary Sullivan, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A family-hosted memorial service was held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00pm at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church, 645 Highway 8 N. Warren, AR 71671.
