Mrs. Dorothy Cottingham Grimes, age 91 of Prescott , Arkansas passed away, Friday, March 4, 2016 in Prescott. Mrs. Grimes was born on May 31, 1924 in Prescott, Arkansas to Alonzo Jack and Lucy Emma DeFoor Cottingham.
She was a home maker, a member of Midway United Methodist Church for 74 years, a member of the Eastern Star and the Rose Garden Club, she was a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award at Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Grimes is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, Arthur Lloyd Grimes, brothers; Dave, Floyd and Alonzo Cottingham, sisters; Lillie Formby, Grace Tyree, Gertie Meador and Helen Harrison and son-in-law, Danny Miller.
Survivors include; two daughters; Martha Burke, husband, Ronnie of Hope, and Donna Miller of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Jan Burke of Dallas, TX, Melissa Evgenides, husband, Jason, of O’Fallon, IL, Rusty Burke, wife Sharlene of Hope, Shane Mowery, wife Melissa of Valiant, OK, great-grandchildren: Nicholas Evgenides, Kylie Evgenides, Dakota Mowery and Shelby Mowery and sister-in-law; Mary Lou Grimes of Prescott.
Memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church, Prescott, AR. 71857 in lieu of flowers.
The Grimes Family will receive friends from 1:00pm till service time at 2:00pm on Monday, March 7, 2016 at BRAZZEL/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
Funeral service, 2:00pm, Monday, March 7, 2016 at BRAZZEL/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott with Bro. Joe Miller and Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial to follow in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements are by BRAZZEL/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director.
