Ruth C. Beck, 85, of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born June 9, 1918, in Vinton, Ohio, to John Franklin Bostick and Mary Elizabeth Corn. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Smith, the VFW No. 1 Auxiliary, the Retired Military Association Auxiliary, American Legion Post No. 31 Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary and Purple Heart No. 587 Auxiliary. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, manager of Fort Chaffee Post Exchange, bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward Catalog in Fort Smith, bookkeeper for McKesson-Robbins in Fort Smith, bookkeeper and router for North American Van Lines in Lawton, Okla., and Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by a son, Joel Edward Grace; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, five brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Raymond H. Beck of Fort Smith; two daughters, Roberta R. McCammon and her husband, James A. McCammon of Van Buren, and Dianna L. Boyles and husband, Ronald R. Boyles Sr. of Van Buren; three sons, Richard E. Grace of Tampa, Fla., James R. Grace of Ball, La., and Frank M. Grace of Fort Smith; 22 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and two nieces of Ohio. There are five generations of the Beck family. We love you, mom and grandma! Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ronnie L. Dodson, Adam N. Dodson, Robert R. Boyles, Daron R. Boyles, Will Traxton and Jimmy Cox.
