John Beam, 88 of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010.

He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. He retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company and then worked at the church for 18 years. He was a loving Grandfather, Great Grandfather and loved helping people.

He was preceded in death by his parents William M. Beam & Vena Robertson Beam as well as his sisters; Hazel Turner, Mary Sherman, Marie Butta, and Vera Riggs.

Services were 10:00 Friday, July 2nd at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with the Reverend Clifford Palmer and Reverend Mike Stark officiating. Interment was at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife Gladys of the home; one daughter Renna Kay Rodden and her husband J.C. of Fort Smith; one son J. Emmett Beam and his fiancé Crystal of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons Johnathon Rodden of Fort Smith and Jack E. Rodden of Greenwood; four great grandchildren Elizabeth and Spencer Rodden of Greenwood and Danielle Rodden and Suann Cox both of Elkins. He is also survived by three nieces Betty Thompson of Ft. Smith, Linda Jordan and her husband Lee of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and Sue Marsh of Fort Smith; a great niece Dana Craig and her husband David of Fort Smith, Kay Ashing of Fort Smith, and Debbie Hall of Barling, and great nephew Todd Briggs of Sallisaw.

Pallbearers were Johnathon Rodden, Jack E. Rodden, Ron Hatcher, Ray Stewart, Paul Williams, Wally Portman, and Lowel Stow.
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Tipton and Reverend Phil Whitten.

Gladys Mae "Sissy" Seaman Beam, 85 of Fort Smith passed away Monday, December 9, 2013.
She was born July 5, 1928 in Van Buren to the late Edgar and Pearl Seaman.

Mrs. Beam was a Homemaker and was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where she taught the 6th Grade Girls Sunday School Class. She loved teaching and taught at Mother's Day Out at First Baptist Church, the Arkansas Baptist Assembly in Siloam Springs, and MOPS at Eastside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Beam.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2013 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.

She is survived by her daughter Renna Kay Rodden and her husband J.C. of Ft. Smith, her son J. Emmett Beam and his wife Crystal of Corinth, Maine, two grandchildren Johnathan and Jack E. Rodden both of Ft. Smith, five great grandchildren; Elizabeth and Spencer Rodden, Danielle Rodden, and Suann and Josh Downing of Elkins, her sister Bettie Kelly of Fayetteville, GA, a step-brother, John Harvey Dunn, and two nieces; Jo Evelyn Brown of Brooks, GA and Elaine K. Kelly of Boynton Beach, FL two great nieces; Kelly Jo Anderson and Lisa Hyman, and two nephews; Michael Brown and Jason Hyman.
