Helen M. Baker, 71, of Fort Smith died Sunday, March 17, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Sulphur Rock. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, William F. Baker and a daughter, Katie Baker. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Goddard United Methodist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Moore and Maurine Baker, both of Fort Smith; two sons, Bill Baker of Denver and Rick Baker of Fort Smith; three sisters, Ernestine Marston of Lamar, Colo., Willie Smith of San Jose, Calif. and Virginia La Fever of Vero Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Heidi Jones of England, Jason Moore of Fort Hood, Texas, Terry and Nathan Baker, both of Dallas, Maxwell Baker of Fort Smith, Matthew, David and Andrew Baker, all of Denver and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeff Rogers, Bill, Rick, Maxwell, Terry and Nathan Baker, Matt Winters and Shay Morse. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of donor's choice or Goddard United Methodist Church.
