January 9, 1929 - August 24, 1981
Mary Evelyn Kendrick Williams was born January 9, 1929 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Will Kendrick. She spent her early childhood here beginning school at the Old Howard School. She especially enjoyed her music classes although she gave ample time to all her other studies, and then on to Lincoln High until the completion there of her public school education. She then attended the Velvatex Beauty College in Little Rock, Arkansas, completing a course there in 1947-48.
She was a member of the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age under the pastorate of Rev. Frank Churchill. Her attendance was excellent until going to Germany with her husband, Clarence Williams, and family. Upon returning she continued Church affiliation until illness prevented attendance, but not preventing her walk with GOD.
She died in Fort Smith, Arkansas August 24, 1981. She is buried in Washington Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, two sons, a granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.
