Wife of Griffin Alexander Sloan
Velma Sloan, 82, of Van Buren died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in a local hospital. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a homemaker and the widow of Griffen Sloan.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church with.
Burial at Washington Cemetery in Fort Smith
She is survived by a sister, Hazel Rogers of Joplin, Mo.; three brothers, Clarence Hogue of Los Angeles, Ernest Hogue Sr. of Fort Smith and John Hogue of Stone Mountain, Ga.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Herbert Norwood, Todd Perry, Randy Williams, Almon Page, Gary Reese, Billy and James Hughes.
