Johnny Lee Jones was born in Merigold, Mississippi, the son of the late Isaac C., Sr and Lovely Jean Jones. The family moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas when Johnny was young. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. His family taught him to work hard. He was a self-employed gardener and took pride in his work. He was also a part-time employee warehouse worker for Dean's Discount Carpet, Inc. He was a willing worker for his community The Neighborhood Senior Citizen Ladies depended on himn for their monthly transportation to Clinics, Stores and Markets.
