Mattie Jo (Edmondson) Thompson-Bray-Jones, 79, of Van Buren died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, in Fort Smith, AR. Mattie was born on April 9, 1932, the daughter of Vivareen Oches Tate (1912-1994) and Pink Edmondson (1910-1967) (m. 1928; div. 1933).
She was an elevator operator and assembly line worker.
She is survived by: six daughters, Marilyn Yell of San Diego; Gloria Wright of Indianapolis; Amanda Mosley of Fort Smith; and Carmon, and Faye Billings, and Carlos Brown, all of Flint, MI; three sons: James Bray of San Diego; John Billings of Flint; and Anthony Jones of Little Rock; two sisters, Palestine Roberts of Indianapolis, and Joann Bell of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Leonard Thompson of Fort Smith, and Juniper Thompson of Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Willie Polk, Calvin Johnson, Randy Arnold, James McDade and James Cole.
