David James Flake Sr. known as "D.D", was the son of Walter and Bennie Flake of Morrilton, Arkansas. He married Sarah Boatner June 21, 1932 in Spiro, Oklahoma. They had six children. He was a member of the First Baptist church where he was a Deacon and President of the usher board. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was Employed with the City of Fort Smith Parks Department as a special Policeman. He died on Thursday March 9 1995 at the Sparks Regional Medical Center, at Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Sarah A.Flake was the daughter of Asleen Winscott and Luster Boatner of Blytheville, Arkansas. Sarah married David Flake Sr. in 1932 in Spiro, Oklahoma, They had six children. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was very devoted to her family. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Choir. She was a member The Betty Biddix Circle and a Deaconess.
