Regina "Jeanie" West, 96, loving mother and grandmother passed away Monday, August 9, 2010. Jeanie was born August 3, 1914 in Edgerton, Wisconsin, the eleventh child of James Burns and Mary Lacey. In 1932 she married Robert "Bob" West.

After 20 years of farming in Wisconsin they moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas and opened a laundry and dry cleaning business. Later she worked at Queens Palace Cleaners and retired from Unique Cleaners in 1997.
Jeanie was a member of First United Methodist Church for 55 years and especially enjoyed attending the Pace Setters Group.
In recent years she happily lived at Mercy Crest Assisted Living.

She is survived by 2 sons; Robert "Bob" West and his wife Georgia of Fort Smith, and James "Jim" West and his wife Pattie of Fort Smith, and 1 daughter; Betty West Lehman and her husband Keith, of Bristow, OK. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren; Debra Segler, Cynthia Waldron, Charla Magee, Coni West Gray, Dale Wayne West, Robert Hale, Mary Louise Cox, Jessica West, Kate Lehman, and Abby Lehman, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband Bob West and her son, Charles West.

Funeral service was 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Roebuck Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Bill Lamon, Sam Fiori, Greg Cross, Mike Keener, Doug Dye, Fred Garcia, Jordan Westbrook, and Joe Berard.
