Carrie Haywood Clayton, 84, of Magnolia, died Sat., Feb. 24, 1996, in St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.

Born October 11, 1911, in Eudora, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Johnnie V. Haywood and Willette Cason Haywood. She was a member of St. Phillip AME Church. She was a former teacher at Oak Grove School.

Survivors include her husband, Rucker E. Clayton of Magnolia, and a brother, Robert Haywood of Detoit, Mich.

Services were held Sat., Mar. 2, at St. Phillips AME Church in Magnolia with Rev. Ezell Branch Jr. officiating. Burial was in Twenty- Third Psalms Cemetery in Magnolia under the direction of Henderson's Mortuary in Magnolila. (Nevada County Picayune - March 6, 1996)
