Thomas Joe "Corky" Stone, died peacefully in his sleep at sunrise on August 25, 2012, at his family's home in Fort Smith, at the age of 83.
He was born December 24, 1928, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of Lawrence Hickman Stone and Lena Mae (Marshall) Stone.

He was married for 36 years to Hattie Lois (Riley) Stone, until her death in 1994. A graduate of the University of Arkansas and the College of the Ozarks, he was a retired pharmacist, and owner of Howe Drug Store on Midland Blvd. Corky served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan and Korea. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Belle Point Lodge #20, and Amrita Grotto.

He is survived by his friends and family Lloyd E. and Rose Marie Riggs of the home, Stephen and Erica Riggs and their children, all of Fort Smith, Caitlin Riggs and Michael Landin of Fayetteville, and David Riggs of the home.

Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith. Viewing will be Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with the family present 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
