Maud Martha Williams was born in Calhoun County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William Williams and Lydia Margaret Lloyd. She married Milton Porter on November 9, 1892 in Calhoun County, Arkansas.
Mrs. Maude Williams Porter, Calhoun County's oldest citizen at age 101, died Saturday, January 27, 1979. She was a life-long resident of Calhoun County and a member of the Harrell United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Milton E. Porter who preceded her in death 22 years ago. Surviving are three sons, Walter Porter of Hampton, Garland Porter of Westlake, LA, and Horace E. Porter of Houston, TX; two daughters, Mrs. Fannie P. Evans of Hampton and Mrs. Tenalia Ables of Camden, 17 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral was Sunday at Harrell United Methodist Church by Rev. A. M. Black and Rev. Robert Johnson. Pallbearers were Robert Mulligan, Oren Williams, Frank Williams, Met Williams, Bunn Ivy and Turner Williams. Burial was in Campground Cemetery.
