Ella Joyce Douglas Jacobs, 87, of Warren, died Saturday, January 2, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.

Born April 18, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Douglas.

She was a member of Power House Church of God in Christ, serving as church mother, Sunday School teacher, and working with BPW, until she was no longer physically able.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Jacobs, sons John L. Jacobs and Hubert Jacobs, siblings Henrietta Wesley, Lois Nelson, and John Henry Douglas.

Survivors:

Her childre: Sylvester Jacobs (Freddie) of Milwaukee, WI., Bobby Jacobs (Frankie) of Waco, TX., Phyllis Sims, Michelle Alexander and Merlin Jay Jacobs all of Little Rock, Martha F. Jacobs of San Diego, CA., Evelyn Logan (Warren) of Helena, AL., and Deora S. Jacobs of Sherwood.

Sisters: Marilyn Wesley of Milwaukee, WI., and Artenthia Smith of Waukegan, IL.

14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2.5 great-great grands and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were January 9 at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Warren with Bishop Chester L. Thompson officiating, Dr. James Yarbrough eulogist and Rev. Henry D. Cox paster. Burial was in Union Cemetery with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home of Warren.
