Ralph Timothy Sartin son of Elijah Sartin and Hymoth Genevera (Hendrix) Sartin. Zena Ray (Colter) Sartin daughter of Sam Colter and Vallie May Colter.

*OBITUARY
Ralph Timothy Sartin of Melbourne, son of the late Elijah Sartin and Geneva Hendrix Sartin was born Nov. 19, 1925 in Boswell, AR. He died Sat., July 11, 1992 in the Veterans Hospital in N. Little Rock, AR.

He was married to Zena Ray Colter on Sept. 9, 1946 in Twin Creek, AR.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Gaye Pate of Melbourne; one son, Larry Wayne Sartin of Mont Belvieu, TX; two brothers, Doyse Sartin of Melbourne and Troye Sartin of Osceola; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tues. July 14, 1992 at 2 p.m. in the Howard Chapel in Melbourne, with Bro. Leonard Williams and Chuck Crow officiating.

Pallbearers were Weldon Campbell, Loyd Hargis, Dewey Love, Jimmy Miller, Lee Campbell Watson, and Wayburn Watson. Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Blair, Hale Bibb, Shorty Campbell, Charles Mynatt, Remmel Williams, Boyce Gillihan, Lloyd Cooper, and Charles Cheatham.

Burial was in the Combs Cemetery at Melbourne under the direction the Howard Funeral Home.

Zena Ray Colter Sartin was born September 26, 1929, on her family farm in Melbourne, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late Sam and Vallie May Colter. She married Ralph Timothy Sartin, September 9th, 1946. They had two children together, a son Larry Sartin (wife Darlene Sartin) of Melbourne AR, and a daughter, Carolyn Pate (husband Henry Pate) of Melbourne AR, she had 5 grandchildren Dennis Sartin of Melbourne, AR, Aaron Reeves (wife Kristal Reeves) of Grove, Oklahoma, Monica Jeffery (husband Greg Jeffery) of Morrilton Ar, Chris Pate (wife Lucy Pate) of Brandon, Mississippi, Jennie Rodgers (husband Rodney Rodgers) of Cleveland, Mississippi. She had 12 great grandchildren, Brooke Kimble (husband Rickey Kimble) of Melbourne AR, Amy Sartin (fiancé Treston Jones) of Mont Belvieu, Texas, Hadli Sartin of Melbourne, AR, Paige Reeves of Melbourne, AR, Lily Beth Reeves of Grove, Oklahoma, Isaiah Glasser, Gracie Glasser, and Gwendolyn Jeffery of Morrilton, AR, Brayden Pate, Laney Pate, and Ethan Pate of Brandon, Mississippi, and Caleb Rodgers of Cleveland, Mississippi. She had one great great grandson Kolin Sartin-Kimble and another one to be born this June, Weston Jones. She had many nieces and nephews.

Zena, was daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She worked at the Pioneer nursing home where she retired after 45 years, and when she wasn't working in the nursing home you could catch her messing with her cows, planting flowers, and visiting with her family. She also was a talented seamstress, who loved to sew quilts. She sewed her kids clothes when they were little, and every Christmas she would have either blankets, quilts, pillow cases, aprons or something she had made to give as a gift to all her family. Zena attended First Baptist Church of Melbourne, AR.

Zena Ray Sartin, passed away February 16th, 2022 in White River Medical Center, in Batesville, AR at the age of 92 years, 7 months, 1 week.

She proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers and sister, husband, son and daughter and one great granddaughter.

Visitation and funeral service will be Sunday, February 20 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
